We have carefully listened to your feedback and worked diligently to improve existing features while expanding the capabilities of AI-Starter. Today, we are pleased to announce the release of AI-Starter 2.4.0 as a result of these efforts.

In this version, we have added four new features to AI-Starter:

  • Claude 3.5 Sonnet
  • RAG Assistant using Claude 3 series
  • Image input functionality
  • Customizable individual assistants

Claude 3.5 Sonnet​

We now support Claude 3.5 Sonnet from Amazon Bedrock, which was released on June 20, 2024, in AI-Starter. Claude 3.5 Sonnet achieves twice the processing speed and one-fifth the cost compared to Claude 3 Opus, while outperforming competing models in key evaluation metrics. Currently, this feature is only available in the us-east-1 region. If you wish to enable it, please contact our dedicated support desk through your internal administrator.

RAG Assistant using Claude 3 series​

Previously, AI-Starter provided RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) assistants using the following models:

  • Azure OpenAI GPT-4
  • Amazon Bedrock Claude 2.1

In this release, we have added new RAG assistants utilizing the Claude 3 series from Amazon Bedrock:

  • Claude 3 Haiku RAG
  • Claude 3 Sonnet RAG
  • Claude 3 Opus RAG

The Claude 3 series offers improved processing speed compared to Claude 2.1, enabling more efficient handling of larger amounts of information. Overall performance and accuracy have also been significantly enhanced. As a result, RAG assistants using the Claude 3 series can provide faster and more accurate responses.

Image input functionality​

We have added image input support for the following assistants:

  • Claude 3.5 Sonnet
  • Claude 3 Haiku
  • Claude 3 Sonnet
  • Claude 3 Opus
  • GPT-4o

This allows you to, for example, attach a screenshot and ask questions about its content.

You can try attaching images using either of the following methods:

  • Drag and drop an image into the text input field
  • Copy and paste an image into the text input field

To remove an attached image, click the delete button that appears in the top right corner of the image. We are aware that the delete button may be difficult to see on white backgrounds and plan to improve this in a future update.

Customizable individual assistants​

Previously, users could only access assistants officially provided by Classmethod. With this release, users can now create their own individual assistants. You can freely combine display names, generative AI models, and grounding resources (such as Kendra) to build custom assistants tailored to your needs. For instructions on how to create these, please contact our dedicated support desk through your internal administrator.

AI-Starter 2.4.0 introduces a wide range of enhancements, including the integration of the latest AI models, expansion of RAG assistants, addition of image input functionality, and implementation of customizable individual assistants.
